Pay Codes

An employee's Time Card will typically include at least a couple of different hours types such as "Regular Hours," "Overtime Level 1" or "Vacation Time." Each of these hours types is assigned to a Pay Code.

There are three types of Pay Codes in the TimeForce II system.

Base Pay Codes

Base Pay Codes are typically assigned to regular worked hours, absences and holidays.

Hours assigned to a Base Pay Code can be "worked hours" (generated from an employee's punches, or directly inserted into the employee's Time Card), or "unworked hours" (generated from an absence or holiday on the employee's Time Card). Hours assigned to this code can also be specified as "Paid" or "Unpaid.

Overtime Pay Codes

This section of the program allows you to create the Overtime Policies that your company uses.

The most common levels of overtime are "time-and-a-half" and "double-time," although multiple other levels are also available.

There is no limit to the number of Overtime Policies that can be created, and employees can be assigned to multiple policies at a time.

The standard overtime types are "Daily" and "Weekly."

Premium Pay Codes

Premium Pay Codes are used to give your employees an accelerated rate of pay based on the schedule they work, the department they work in, or at certain times of specific days.

An example of Premium Pay being used based on a schedule or department would be if employees get a fixed hourly rate of $11 an hour for working an overnight schedule, or for working in the "Maintenance" department.

An example of Premium Pay being used at a specific time of day would be if employees get paid an extra 50 cents per hour for working past 7:00 p.m. on Sundays.

There are multiple different types of Premiums in the TimeForce II system.
